Spooky Selfie

Today I'm sharing a card I created for CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge 239. Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

This stamp set is from a new to me company called Brutus Monroe. Isn't it super fun?!?! I absolutely love it...and when I first saw it, I immediately knew I had to buy it and use it to make a Halloween card for my brother, SIL and niece who have a family selfie tradition. I hope they get a kick out of it!

Pet Sympathy

Well, hello there!
Today I'm sharing a card I made using the most recent sketch from Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 304.
Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

This "Angel Pets" stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs has the sweetest images and sentiments. And better yet...the wings are separate stamps, so you can use the cute little pet images for everyday occasions as well.

Here's a closer look:

The inside sentiment says: "Sometimes our lives are touched by gentle friends who stay only for a while...but remain in our hearts forever."

I hope you like my card for today! Feels so great to be back in the craft studio after a very busy and fun-filled summer!

Have a fantastic weekend!

With Sympathy

My uncle passed away unexpectedly last Thursday morning, so I've been spending some time in my craft studio making sympathy cards for my family.

I made two cards using sketch 289 at Freshly Made Sketches.
Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

When I saw the samples created by the FMS DT, I was really inspired by Kim's card and thought to myself---I have some flower dies that are very similar to that. Hmmmm...and the mojo was set into motion. The adorable die-cut flowers on my cards are from Bloomers 4 by Taylored Expressions. Aren't they sweet?!?! A BIG THANK YOU to Taylor for giving this die set to those of us who attended the April 2017 Stamping Away Retreat in Kansas!!! And HUGS to Kim for the creative inspiration!

Thanks for visiting today!

More Butterflies...

Today I'm sharing a thank you card I created using the layout from CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge 221 and featuring the Mini Thank You Stamp Set from Studio Katia!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

The sentiment and butterfly are both from the Mini Thank You Stamp Set by Studio Katia. Isn't it GORGEOUS?!?!!! My crafty friends and I were gifted this set at a retreat in April, and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! Thank you so much, Studio Katia!!!

I embossed the sentiment and butterfly in gold and then added a tiny bit of color to the butterfly with Copic Sketch Markers. I also embossed a few dots on and around the focal panel as a finishing touch.

Because of all of the gold shimmer (on the paper and with the embossing) this was a very tricky card to photograph. Here's another look to show off the shine:

I'll be snail mailing this to some friends who hosted a wonderful Indian dinner to celebrate the end of the university school year!
